Loughborough  University 

Overview

Loughborough University dates back to the Loughborough Colleges, founded in 1909. Having gained university status in 1966, Loughborough now has nearly 16,000 students, of whom 19 per cent are international from over 130 countries.
Loughborough is located in the middle of England and is only 90 minutes by train from London. The University’s campus is near to the town centre and a short bus ride from the railway station. The attractive campus, one of the largest in Europe, has many green open spaces.

  • Loughborough was The Sunday Times University of the Year 2008 and The Times Good University Guide 2011 places it 16th in the UK and in the country’s top ten in 14 subject areas.

  • Accommodation in the University's halls of residence is guaranteed for international undergraduate students for up to two years.

  • The Students' Union is one of the biggest in the UK and home to over one hundred clubs and societies.
  • A 300-seat theatre is located within the campus Arts Centre where music, dance and drama productions by both students and visiting artists are frequently performed.
