Overview
The University of Sheffield was founded in 1905. It started as the Sheffield School of Medicine which opened in 1828. The University has now grown to more than 24,000 students with over 4,000 international students from 131 countries.
Sheffield is one of the most popular cities for students in the UK. It's England's fourth largest city. It is a friendly, safe and an affordable place to live. The city is located in the centre of the UK. It has good transport links and is close to the Peak District countryside. The University campus is a mixture of the traditional and modern. It stretches from the city centre towards Sheffield's green suburbs.
